Wooden Classic Clinker built sailing dinghy

Lady R is a clinker built rowing dinghy, with centreboard and a Bermudan mainsail. Her date of build and builder are unknown but it is likely she was tender to a gentleman's yacht in the 1930s. There are two rowing positions and two sets of oars with galvanised rowlocks.

Boat builder Peter Matheson refitted Lady R in 2018, completing work on the hull and trailer. She is ready to go.

She is constructed of pitch pine fastened to steam bent oak timbers with copper rivets. Thwarts are of pitch pine with sawn oak floors across the centreline and slatted sole boards.

She has an oak transom with transom hung rudder with a galvanised dropping blade for shallow waters. The galvanised centre board is set in a solid wooden varnished box with lifting tackle

She is varnished inside and out giving her a sleek and elegant appearance.

This is a beautiful craft and with her own trailer will give many more years of service.
