Moody 33 Mk2 - £22,500

The Moody 33 MK 2 was originally designed by Angus Primrose as a centre cockpit sloop, with spacious accommodation and good sailing qualities. This fin keel version has been well maintained and has cruised the West Coast of Scotland, presently based at Ardfern Marina in Argyll.

The present owner purchased Sheer Perfection in 2010 and although she was apparently well presented, soon realised that there were various items that required up dating and he has continued to improve and modernise her during his ownership.

The owner replaced the original engine with a new Sole 42hp indirect cooled inboard diesel fitted with a new prop. All work was done professionally at Ardfern Marina in 2014. It is showing only 175 hours use since new.

The standing rigging was replaced 2018. In 2011 the sail cover was replaced with stack pack and lazy jacks. The running rigging was replaced at the same time. The original main sail has now been replaced with a new one supplied by Jeckells and the genoa has also been overhauled.

The instruments fitted were not modern or user friendly, so it was decided to fit Tacktick wireless wind speed / direction, and depth and log instruments. One advantage of these latest additions is the ability to take them off their mountings when the boat is not in use as Tacktick are wireless instruments. A new DSC VHF was fitted 2016. A new Raymarine Axiom 7in touch screen chart plotter was fitted to the binnacle in 2019.

The wheel originally fitted was very large so it was replaced with a 36 ins wheel. The position of the chart plotter was changed to the binnacle.

The upholstery on board was replaced with new cushions, professionally made, which have stood the test of time. A complete set of outdoor cushions was made by the same supplier for the cockpit.

The boat is fitted with two heads. The toilet in the forward heads compartment was replaced with a Lavac suction toilet.

The original cooker was replaced in 2018 with a new professionally installed Neptune 4500 stove with 2 burners, grill and oven. At the same time the gas system was replaced to meet current regulations.

In its present ownership Perfection has been wintered ashore under a heavy duty cover.
