Dewar Aluminium sailing yacht - £64,995

This aluminium long distance sailing yacht was built in 1984 by Dewar Marine in Cape Town to a Jim Dewar design. Purchased by two brothers and used as a live aboard in South Africa, she was eventually sailed back to Bristol via Madagasgar and Ibiza .

The present owner purchased her in 2003 and brought her ashore where she underwent a complete re-build and renovation which took up the next eleven years.

During this period the interior was completely stripped out and had sprayed on insulation applied throughout. All interior joinery was replaced in Marine ply veneered and edged with ash. The finished result is a bright comfortable interior of the highest quality.

The hull has been grit blasted and fresh primer and antifouling applied. Nightshift is in good order and ready to go.

The original BMW engine has been replaced with a new Vetus 42hp diesel with less than 100 hrs use to date. The engine is regularly maintained and serviced.

There has been a complete re-fit of instruments including Raymarine log/depth tri data, Chart plotter, wind speed direction, auto pilot, Furuno radar, icom VHf with DSC.

Other improvements include a bow thruster, a powered windlass, wind turbine and hydraulic steering. There is a Wind Pilot steering system fitted on the transom. The owner has also added an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB).

Proof of VAT exempt in the EU is available.

Accommodation:

The accommodation comprises a total of seven berths in three cabins. There is a double in the fore cabin, a three quarter berth in the port side aft cabin, a single in the starboard side quarter berth and two saloon berths. The saloon has a table with settee berths around it.

Headroom below is 1.86m. Headroom in the seating area is 1.7m, allowing for the wide flat foredeck above.

The separate heads compartment is fitted with a Vetus marine toilet, a wash basin and shower. A holding tank is fitted with a macerator pump.

There is an Eberspacher heater, which the owner has chosen not to connect.


Galley:

The spacious galley is equipped with a Force Ten four burner cooker with oven, a top loading fridge and a sink with pressurised hot and cold water.
